What we do not collect

• Your answers to the check. The scoring runs in JavaScript on your own device. The form has no action and never submits anywhere. Close the tab and the answers are gone.
• Your email address. We never ask for one. There is no gate on the result.
• Your store address. If you use the PageSpeed button, the address you type is used only to build a link to Google's own tool, which then opens in a new tab. It is not sent to us.
• Analytics of any kind. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no pixel, no heatmap tool and no third-party script on this site at all. The pages load no external resources whatsoever — no fonts, no CDN, nothing.
• Tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies.

What is stored, and where

In your browser only

If you switch between the light and dark colour theme, that single preference is saved in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers it next time. It stays on your device, it is never transmitted, and clearing your browser data removes it. Nothing else is stored.

The “copy a link” button

The share button on the results encodes your answers into the link itself, after the #. Everything after a # stays in the browser and is never sent to a web server, including ours. That is why the feature needs no database: whoever opens the link recreates the result from the link text on their own device. Anyone you send that link to can read the answers in it, so treat it like any other message.

What our web server records

Like essentially every web server, ours writes an access log entry when a page is requested: the IP address, the time, which file was requested, and the browser's user-agent string. This is standard server operation, used for security and for diagnosing faults. It is not linked to your answers, because your answers never arrive at the server.

Links to other sites

This site links out to SwiftForge Web, GrannyHost, and to third-party documentation such as php.net, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Adobe and Google PageSpeed Insights. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy practices apply, not this one. We have no control over and no visibility into what they collect.

Who runs this site

Store Sheriff is built and operated by SwiftForge Web LLC, who also run swiftforgeweb.com. They have a commercial interest in you discovering your store needs work, which is disclosed plainly on the tool itself.
